In America, we all need to do our part to preserve our freedom and share the benefit of liberty to the poor, the tired, the huddled masses, et al.  So when the United States Department of Homeland Security needed a host to become the face of freedom for thousands of hopeful immigrants, the call came to Damian (Martinez) to gently guide these folks on their path to citizenship.  Each foreign applicant will receive a thorough tutoring by Damian, and he can't wait to be recognized on the street by grateful, newly-minted American citizens.  Check out the video on the Homeland Security website here.

Damian has also been a busy host on Myphl17 (Philadelphia) for the television show Better Philly.  Recently, he has hosted segments for the Delaware Children's Museum, Phillies Asthma walk
and Temple University.  He also has fronted the first two installments of a new consumer-advocate series entitled For Better or Worse, where Damian tests out new "wonder products" to gauge their value.

Damian also sat down to interview Pulitzer Prize winning author Anna Quindlen and talked about her new novel Every Last One.  The segment airs on Monday, May 10 at 8:45AM.

And finally, Damian has booked the lead in a new Seasons Pizza commercial which will air on the East Coast from New Jersey to Virginia.  Seasons Pizza has 25 locations, including Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia!

March 6

Damian will be playing Father Flynn (The Philip Seymour Hoffman guy from the movie) in Doubt, running from March 12-20 at the Grand Theater in Williamstown NJ.  Tickets are available by calling 856-728-2120 or online  by clicking here

To celebrate, myphl17 in Philadelphia ran a promotional segment featuring Damian for The Road Company, which can be viewed here.

December 27

The Road Company's production of The Odd Couple closed earlier this month to robust audiences and great fanfare.  Damian was featured in The Gloucester County Times and Courier-Post news releases, and his performance was plugged by Laura Nachman's Philly TV and Radio site.  Thanks to all who helped make this play a great success!  On the Better Philly front, Damian recently hosted segments with Melissa Levy of Philadelphia PAWS animal shelter, LA screenwriter and product pitchman Sean McEwen, and spent the day with Pete Ciarrocchi of the world-reknown sports bar Chickies and Pete's where he got to interview the stunning athletes from the Philadelphia Passion, the area's Lingerie Football League team.  Lots of announcements coming up in 2010, check back soon!

November 18

The Odd Couple is opening in just over 2 weeks at The Grand Theater in Williamstown, NJ.  Co-starring with Damian is Roy A. Wilbur as Felix.  Performances are Friday and Saturday, December 4-5 and 11-12 at 8PM, with a 2PM matinee on Sunday, December 6.  Tickets can be obtained online at www.roadcompany.com or by calling 856-728-2120
.

October 8

Fall has arrived, and Damian continues to be busy!  Recent episodes of Better Philly have showcased interviews with talk-show host Steve Wilcos, cooking segments for Blackbird, Tre Famiglia, Melange, and Catch It Grog 'n Grill, as well as an on location excavation of a Revolutionary War battlefield, tailgating tips, latest electronic gadgets, and a buffalo wing taste-off!

Seems like there is barely time for anything else, so naturally Damian signed on with the Road Company Theater Company in Williamstown to take on the comedic-benchmark role of Oscar Madison in Neil Simon's The Odd Couple.  Show dates are December 4-12, more details to follow.

September 6

Damian recently shot 8 web-commercials for ASI in Bensalem, reprising his popular "PC" character (as in Mac vs. PC) for the catalogue and lead provider.

He will also been seen hosting PHL17's morning show "Better Philly" on Friday, September 11, where he will be preparing Branzino with sweet potato gnocchi in the studio with chefs from Tre Familglia restaurant in Haddonfield, NJ.  Expect the segment to air either at 8:15 or 8:45 AM.

Damian has also signed on to appear in a one-act play opening early next year in Pitman, NJ.  That's all for now, we're in touch, so you be in touch.

August 20

Well, maybe the recession is finally showing signs of....receeding?  Work has ramped up significantly for Damian of late, leading off with him doing his part for a better America.

Damian has booked a government industrial with the US Citizenship & Immigration Services division to host a primer on applying for residency in America.  That means when all of the tired, huddled masses from teeming shores begin their process to citizenship, they will first see Damian's friendly face and calming voice telling them that the process is safe and fair and not like what they might have heard from a crazy uncle "back home".  Then, if they have not fled to their houses of worship, they can begin the test for naturalization.  Damian's service to his country knows no boundaries!

Damian has also booked a series of commercials with ASI in Feasterville, PA following a "Mac vs. PC" format that is similar to the Abeloff Nisson spots he shot back in June.  Speaking of, those spots will be premiered right here in the next couple of weeks, so keep checking back!

On the Better Philly front, Damian teamed up with Pontiac to report on the outstanding deals available at area dealerships.  Between the "End of Summer Closeout Event" and the federal "Cash for Clunkers" program, some customers are driving away with a 50% discount off of MSRP for a brand new car!  Take a peek here.

Damian then sampled the food over at Blackbird Restaurant in Collingswood, NJ for another Better Philly segment.  As part of the "Better Philly Deals" promotion, customers can get $50 worth of food for only $25!
More to come, keep checking in!

July 18

Damian recently spent a LONG day at Hershey Park, hosting multiple segments of Better Philly for PHL17 in Philadelphia.  In less than 10 hours he rode the most fearsome roller coasters on the East Coast (the Fahrenheit, in my opinion, was designed in an asylum), interviewed happy parents and excited children, toured the beautiful Hershey Lodge and Hotel Hershey, spent time at the pool, took a golf cart through Hershey Links, one of 4 beautiful golf courses on the property (where Damian responded to a challenge from the resident golf pro and landed a 155 yard 6-iron shot pin-high on the green, about 15 feet from the cup), and also checked out the restaurants, cottages, and landmarks that makes the Hershey Park experience so unique when compared to other resort destinations.  Check out the air dates below to tune in to the fun!

Damian has completed acting in a series of 6 funny commercials for Abeloff Nissan, all spoofing the popular "Mac vs. PC" ad format.  The commercials will be rotated out for television broadcast beginning in August just north of the Philadelphia area, but you can also watch them on the web soon, details to follow!

The end of June also saw Damian taking the stage to host and perform stand-up comedy at the New Candlelight Dinner Theater's comedy club, opening for Andy Pitz.  He got to try out some new trendy pop-referenced material in front of the finest rural all-you-can-eat-buffet-loving folks Delaware has to offer.  Should have known that the Emeril Lagasse impression would garner only confused, worried looks.  Bam!

Damian returns to Better Philly on the Friday episodes of July 24 and 31, and August 7.  July 20th will showcase the return of MyPhillyLawyer.com's Dean Weitzman as Damian gets the facts about Tort coverage and what you need to know before getting insurance for your vehicle.  The remaining segments are a special 3-part series highlighting Better Philly's recent visit to Hershey Park.  Damian's segments can be seen between 8:15-8:20 PM weekdays on Philadelphia's PHL17.  Don't miss 'em!

June 16

June has been a busy month for Damian.  The Odd Couple finally closed at the Devon Theater on May 31, and the experience was unforgettable.  Northeast Philly is A-OK with me!  Damian attended the recent Annual Theater Awards and Dinner Dance for Burlington County Footlighters, where he both accepted an award on behalf of fellow actor John Devinnie, and presented the award for Best Leading Actress for the 2008-09 season.  Great seeing old friends and ex-friends alike!

Damian also worked on the set of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia in a scene with Danny Devito in the Italian Market section of Philly as a vendor, followed up by performing in the role of Press Photographer for the feature film The Best and the Brightest, starring Neil Patrick Harris

Finally, Damian has 5 appearances on Myphl17 coming up, currently as follows:

June 17-Father's Day Gift Ideas with Cindy Piccoli
June 18-Cooking with North by Northwest Chef Paris
June 22-Interview with Dean Weitzman from Myphillylawyer.com
June 29-Part 2 of interview with attorney Dean Weitzman

Unless otherwise noted, all of Damian's segments will air between 8:15-8:20 AM on Myphl17 in Philadelphia.

March 6

Spring is right around the corner, and so are more Better Philly episodes featuring Damian, on MyPHL17 in Philadelphia.  On Tuesday, March 10, follow Damian to the Shops at Liberty Plaza on Chestnut Street where WMGK radio is sponsoring the Classic Rock Art Show exhibit until March 29.  He will be interviewing DJ Debbi Calton and local Etch-a-Sketch artist (yes, you read that correctly) Lee Zimmerman.  Then on Thursday, March 12, Damian reports from the Channel 17 studio on the fallout from the recent peanut-contamination scare.  Both episodes will air at approximately 8:15-8:20 AM.  Tune in if you can or watch them later in the afternoon here!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to have children and blackmail a co-worker, Damian's acting portrayals return to primetime television.  First up, Damian was featured as fugitive Jose Perez on a very special Valentine's Day edition of America's Most Wanted on FOX.  Next is Damian as cold-blooded killer Eddie Makdessi on a repeat showing of Forensic Files this Friday Night at 11PM EST on TruTV.  Don't Miss it!

Also, Damian's first interviews with the Philadelphia Phillies are now up on the MyPHL17 website.  Go here and forward to the last two pages of videos.  Damian interviewed pitchers Scott Eyre and Ryan Madson, manager Charlie Manuel, and G.M. October 28

Damian returns to the local morning television airwaves this week with three new segments on Better Philly.  On Wednesday, October 29 he interviews comedian Paul Rodriguez.  Thursday finds him doing a "via-satellite" interview with the stars of the new Sam Raimi-produced TV series Legend of the Seeker, who are on location in New Zealand!  And finally, tune in on Halloween morning as Damian tours the scariest haunted house in America, Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary!

October 19

October is shaping up to be Damian's busiest month of the year.  Last night he was featured in the Saturday Night Live sketch "Narc School" which coincided with VP Nominee Sarah Palin's appearance on the same program.  Its always fun to work on the 8th floor at 30 Rock, but the aura of electricity surrounding this episode made it an exceptional experience.  Bomb-sniffing dogs, a twenty-odd plus security person detail, not to mention Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg, and Oliver Stone all wandering the halls throughout the day did not deter Damian from portraying a gun-toting undercover high school cop to the best of his ability.  Overnight Arbitron ratings indicated that over 14 million people tuned in, SNL's biggest TV audience since 1994!  You can check out the sketch over on the video page here

Dont forget to tune in to Forensic Files this Friday at 9PM EST on TruTV to see Damian yet again!

October 17

Tune in Saturday, October 18 to see Damian's return to Saturday Night Live, at 11:30 PM on NBC!  Unless his sketch is cut, he will be playing an undercover narc in a high school classroom with host Josh Brolin.  Also in the sketch will be Kristen Wiig, Will Forte, and SNL newbie Casey Wilson.  This episode is special for another reason, namely for the possibility that Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Hussein Palin may make a cameo appearance.  The only way to find out for sure is to WATCH!

October 13

Mark your calendars for FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, at 9:00 PM and tune in to TruTV's long-running crime serial Forensic Files to watch Damian's latest prime time principal role, that of convicted killer Eddie Makdessi.  For those who remember, Damian first portrayed fugitive Jose Perez on Fox's Amercia's Most Wanted.  Two years have elapsed since that show's airing, and still Perez has not been caught.

Despondent over this news, Damian has decided to only portray cold-hearted killers who have actually been convicted of their crimes.  Cue the spotlight on  Makdessi, a con man who initially schemes with his wife to blackmail the man she seduces, and then desides to kill them both instead!  "Double Cross " will put a chill up your spine just in time for Halloween, only on the TruTV channel!  The episode premieres at 9PM, with encores at 1AM and 5AM.

In other news, Damian has been very busy honing his hosting chops, spending a weekend in New York training with L.A. hosting guru Marki Costello and meeting with agents and networks, gearing up for pilot season which is just around the corner!  There are a couple of MAJOR announcements coming soon, so stay tuned!

Damian has also recently played the lead role in an instructional video which will be distributed to 380 Public Works Departments in New Jersey, as a supervisor who explains in graphic detail the dangers of heavy machinery.  The video will premiere at the NJ League of Municipalities convention in Atlantic City, NJ in November.

September 15

Damian's first episode of Better Philly aired today on Philadelphia affiliate myphl17, marking his debut as morning TV talk-show host.  Overall he needs to drop a few (dozen) pounds, but the initial response has been very positive.  His second episode will air on Wednesday, when he breaks in the new Better Philly kitchen by IKEA with Chef Rich Landau.  Overnight ratings have been very strong for Better Philly, hopefully Damian's addition to the team will boost them even higher!

September 10

Well, after much hush-hush and hullabaloo, Damian finally has the green light to share the biggest news of his year........drumroll.......SYMBOL!

Damian is the newest talk-show host on Philadelphia television!  Yes, he has signed with Channel 17 (Call letters MYPHL17) to host the new weekday talk-show called "Better Philly", which will air from 8-9AM, Monday-Friday.  Damian will be a part of a network of reporters, interviewing local artists, authors, fashion experts, and celebrities.  Plus, the set has a brand new kitchen and Damian will be hosting cooking segments as local chefs work their magic for viewers at home.

For those of you who have been long time followers of Damian's entertainment career, you know that this opportunity is what he has been waiting for, so if you live in the Delaware Valley make sure to tune in!

For the upcoming week, Damian can be seen:

Monday, September 15.  Studio Guests-Bonnie Wiemer and Carol Heimerl from Mothers Against Drunk Driving

Wednesday, September 17.  Kitchen segment with Chef Rich Landau of Horizon's restaurant in Philadelphia, and Alice Bast of the Celiac Awareness Foundation.

Previous episodes and show information can be found here

Keep checking back for the latest episode listings and for more of what is coming Damian's way this Autumn!

September 8

Damian has big career news to share SOON!  Keep checking damianmuziani.com for the impending announcement.

Elsewhere, Damian has directed another internet video for TurnHere, brandishing his camera for the documentaion of a beautiful penthouse apartment in New Brunswick, NJ.  If you're in the market, its a steal at $850,000.

Also, he has finished shooting an episode of Forensic Files for TruTv entitled Fraud-ian Slip.  Damian plays the lead character of Eddie Makdessi in a true story of a husband and wife team who conspires to blackmail a third person.  The husband ends up double-crossing his wife and kills both her and the intended victim.  Unlike his portrayal of Jose Perez on America's Most Wanted, this criminal actually eventually got caught and is serving a double-murder life sentence.  The episode will air on a Friday night at 9PM EDT in either September or October.  We'll provide the details as we get them.

August 26

Damian has booked a principal role in the long-running cable television series Forensic Files.  As previously established on America's Most Wanted and Most Evil, he will again play a very bad man in what has evolved into an expressive outlet for Damian to balance his comedy roles with dark drama.  The episode will be among the first shot in High-Definition for the TruTV network and promises to showcase yet another side of Damian's abilities.  We're not allowed to reveal Damian's character, but he is the villain of the episode, and blackmails, swindles, lies, and murders in the recreation of a famous case that was nearly considered the perfect crime until a blood-splatter expert makes a shocking discovery.  As soon as an airdate is announced, we'll have it here, check back soon!

August 15

The first half of 2008 has been busy for Damian.  In January, Damian made his stand-up comedy debut at The Ritz Theatre, which was featured on Comcast OnDemand cable.  His set went over well, find it by clicking the video tab.

February took Damian to Omaha, Nebraska for the World Premiere of the feature film "Placebo", the topsy-turvy production of which you may remember reading about here two summers ago.  What can he say?  There is a fantastic zoo in Omaha, if you ever find yourself trapped, I mean visitng, there.

In March, Damian signed on with Mid-Atlantic Sports Net to be featured in a series of commercials for the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals baseball teams.  Again, check out the video page to see some of them.

In May, he played the role of Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at Burlington County Footlighters in Cinnaminson, NJ.  It was great to get up on stage and sing again, and Damian was doubly blessed by winning the theater's annual Best Leading Actor award.  Damian performed double-duty around this time by concurrently understudying for the mainstage production of The Odd Couple at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia.

Damian has also begun to produce and direct commercials for the outsourcing group TurnHere.  So far he has turned in three projects with many more on the way!

The Fall promises to bring big news to Damianmuziani.com, check back soon!
